Twitter has started reporting if users want to like a tweet that has a label that has misleading information in it. The move is de not to stop the spread of misleading tweets
Twitter already reported users retweeting with their own comments, and that’s happening now Twitter 29 percent less. That’s why you should also report when liking a tweet, something that happens on Twitter by clicking on the heart.
That notification consists of an exclamation point indicating that the information in the tweet may be misleading, with a link to more info. There are also buttons to continue or to cancel the likes or retweets.
The notification is one of the steps Twitter is taking to prevent the spread of misinformation on its platform. Twitter cites the corona pandemic, the US presidential election and “synthetic media” as reasons why the notification is needed.
