Finnish smartphone maker HMD Global has announced an event for next week. The invitation leaves little to be desired, but there have been rumours for months about a successor to the camera smartphone 9 Pureview
HMD chief executive Juho Sarvikas posted the invitation on Twitter. Sarvikas added that HMD will show several Nokia handsets on that day. The invitation itself speaks of a ‘new chapter for Nokia phones’.
There have been rumours for months about the Nokia 9.3 Pureview, a phone that should follow the 9 Pureview as a camera smartphone from the Finnish manufacturer. The new Pureview phone would no longer have five of the same cameras as the experimental 9 Pureview, but instead feature the same 108-megapixel camera sensors that Samsung and Xiaomi use, adding a regular camera with ultra-wide angle lens and telephoto lens.
The event will take place next Tuesday at 4 p.m. HMD has been presenting new phones in September for several years now. Last year, they were just midrange models. In the spring, HMD showed its first 5G phone,
