Did delivering packages just get even faster?

CEO of Amazon Jeff Bezos made a bold announcement this week. The announcement has most Brick and Mortar stores reeling. He announced that amazon is hoping to have a fleet of  “Octocopters” within the next few years. The Copters use GPS navigation to fly to the delivery location and drop the package off.

These are prototype models of the drones.

Amazon says that using this method, packages could be delivered in as little as 30 minutes! Sadly this technology is not far enough progressed to put the drones into production. For the drones to be able to be put into production Amazon also has to talk to the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration). Currently this type of air delivery system is illegal in the United States. Amazon is facing many hurdles in there quest to make delivery ultra fast.
